Default Upgrades on Flysky FS-i6X transmiter

I am planing to buy a Flysky FS-i6X transmitter.
I now that it is unusual to use a sticks TX for RC cars but I am use to them so no problem for me. And as well I need at least 6 channels, provably 8 and a bunch of strange mixings and curves in order to handle the Superclass I am buiding: Crazy axles idea design

I think I have read somewhere that it is interesting to upgrade or change the software to this TX.
Is that correct? If so where can I find more info about it and how to do it?
Any other suggestion about this TX or suggestion about getting a different TX is Wellcome as well.

Thank you.

I found a list of videos on Youtube that gives a lot of tips about how to use, hack and upgrade this transmitter:

Don't try that firmware on the i6X, it could brick it (kill it). The older FS-i6 (blue/black stickers) is different from the FS-i6X in several ways, most importantly using a different processor - thus different firmware. The i6 needs the hack to use 10ch, but the i6X can do 10ch out of the box.

The only thing I've done to mine was add return springs to the left/throttle stick & change the long 2-pos switch to a 3-pos. I don't quite recommend the throttle mod unless you are VERY CAREFUL. If you turn the radio on when the throttle isn't all the way down (or up if in a diff stick mode), it goes into warning mode. On the current firmware it not only beeps but sends bass-ackwards signals to your servos that could spin them past their stops, so always remember to have your RX off when turning the TX on.
