| Axial AE5 issues.
My nephew purchased an AE5 esc to replace his failed AE2 in his deadbolt. I hooked everything up and the AE5 beeps twice and then the red light blinks continuously with no throttle. Steering works fine. I threw in one of my AE2's I had laying around and it works fine so I sent him packing with that. Anyone have any advice on how to get this AE5 working? Or if it is DOA? It was purchased from RPP salvage yard. I usually don't have issues with electronics but I am not finding much info on the AE5, I am assuming it just needs to be programmed. Thanks! |

I do not have a AE5, but it sounds like your ESC is not initializing because the remote neutral does not match the ESC Neutral. Try adjusting the trim on the throttle channel up and down (slowly). http://docs.axialracing.com/instruct...Drag_Brake.pdf |

I've got the same issue with both of my Bombers. One of them I just bought used and it worked fine when I tested it with someone else's battery. A day later, steering but no throttle. My main rig, same thing. I tried adjusting the trim and it worked....until I screwed everything back together. Now the same issue, no matter how I adjust the trim. So frustrated...

Possibly the AE-5 could be re-calibrated to fix the problem. Probably won't hurt to try. • Plug in the battery to the ESC with the ESC switch in the OFF position. • To calibrate the ESC, turn on the transmitter keeping throttle stick at its neutral position. • Wait for 3 seconds to let the ESC execute self-test and automatic throttle calibration. • When the ESC is ready to run, a long beep sound is emitted from the motor. |
