| on/off switches on Castle ESCs
Is it possible for Castle to source a less reliable power switch for their ESCs? I mean, their ESCs are well made, well engineered products, but then they slap on the cheapest power switch that money can buy. On my first Mamba X that I installed into my Bomber, I assumed that the non-functional power switch was a fluke, so I just soldered in a spare that I had laying around. Fast forward to Mamba X number 2 in my Yeti, and the very first time I used the truck the power switch got flakey and is now inconsistent. I'd gladly pay an extra dollar for a Mamba X with an adequate switch. So, on to my question. Rather than order some random switch from eBay, does anybody have a recommendation for an inexpensive, reliable, small switch that I can buy to replace this switch? One with a screw mount or two would be preferred, but anything that can be securely mounted one way or another is fine. |

You can just remove the switch. I don't know if on is open or closed. But if it's closed just solder the wires together. The batter then just turns it on. Since you shouldent leave the battery conected any ways I never say a purpose for the switch any ways. Personally I use a Deadman switch on the battery side. This is a plug that disconnects the batteries positive lead. In my case the plug is mounted inside a fire extinguisher. So it looks like a scale accessory. Using this method there is 0 battery drain if the Deadman swich is unplugged. |

Cut, strip, twist, solder, shrink tube and forget it ever existed. Holmes esc's have the switches eliminated from the factory just how it should be. |

I would prefer a switch. On my Bomber I keep the switch in the interior, and I plan to do the same with the Yeti. When I'm moving video equipment around or doing other short-term tasks, I like to shut off the vehicle without going through the effort of getting to the battery tray to disconnect it.

the switch on Castle ESCs is closed to power on the device. do as White-trash says. solder the wires together and forget about it.

I just cut the switch off with a short amount of wire coming out. Fit male/female BEC plugs on the switch and wires on the esc. Makes it easier to calibrate the transmitter. or accidentally drain the battery too low if left plugged in. This is more useful on some esc's which have a button on the switch to calibrate the esc to tx |
