Futaba - 4+ channel radio with telemetry.

Wanting to get a new radio system with the option of using telemetry and getting the motor temp sensor.

Is this reciever capable of using the futaba motor temp sensor?

What's the next step up for more channels?

Going in my xmaxx. But eventually I want to get a crawler too..

The 4PV is the next step up from the 3PV, I'm very happy with mine.

As for telemetry, Futaba's sensors are insanely expensive compared to other brands so I never bothered with them. The temp sensor is $70 while the sensor for my Sanwa (and pretty much every other brand that offers that function) is $10. The trend continues for the voltage and RPM sensors as well.

Consider the Sanwa MTS or Spektrum DX5R for a mid-range telemetry system.

The 3PV is only compatible with one additional voltage sensor. While it is a great radio, if you want temperature telemetry the 3PV is not the radio to use.

I’m not sure about the 4pls but the 4pv is definitely telemetry capable. But like svt923 said the sensors are expensive.

Castle offers a telemetry link that will work with the Futaba....unfortunately, it will only work with the 4PX, and 7PX, and NOT the 4PV.

I have the 4PV and love it...but not paying $70 for each item I want to monitor. Motor temp and voltage I would like to have...but can live without it. Only other option is to buy a used 4PX.
