I know there wasn't a question in there, but I'll take a swing at where you're going anyway. The c rating is basically how fast a battery is capable of discharging/delivering amps. To figure out the total amperage, just multiply the packs capacity by the c rating. In your case, 1300mah (same as 1.3ah) multiplied by the c rating of 45 would give you a maximum sustained discharge of 58.5amps. That means it can dump a constant 58.5 amps until the battery is completely discharged, without harm. Generally speaking, lipos also have a "burst" rating (usually double the c rating) which is how much they can dump for a short burst (think 3-5 seconds at 117amps.) Your 550 brushed motor won't pull 58.5amps (at least, not sustained) so it's within the range of the battery in question. I'd guess that size pack should last you +/-30 minutes of non stop trail driving. Grab a couple! |

So If I am looking at getting the hobbywing xerun, 550 3300 kv brushless, and I want to use 2200mah give or take a few mah packs, what kind of C rating of the pack should I be looking at getting to compliment the motor/esc, or anything about 30-35c will do?

Assuming you're talking about a Hobbywing AXE system, I can't find the max amp draw of that motor. You generally want to choose your power source (battery and esc) based on the locked rotor amp draw of the motor you've chosen since that is the highest amperage the system will see. The esc is only capable of supplying 60a though, since they're sold together we'll just have to assume they've been equally paired, that at least gives something to go off of. 60a ÷ 2200mah (2.2ah) would give you about 27c as your absolute bare minimum needed to supply the esc. It never hurts to go with a higher c rating though since the battery will only discharge what the esc demands, and the esc can only discharge as much amperage as the motor demands. It''s not possible to over do it with the c rating, just don't expect a 200c battery to produce more power than a 30c would in your application.
