Default Gt3b

Bought this radio while back just wanting a little more programmability but now I’m getting curious about what the 3rd channel can do. Simple on/off for a light bar the limits or could I run something like a winch or dig/2 speed? Don’t own a computer so I’m really not interested in hacking it. So what are you guys running on your 3rd channel?

I’ve got a hacked one, and used 4 channels, so I bought a 6ch rx.
Worked perfectly for lights and winch.

The original 3ch RX went into another truck and is controlling a dig servo.
No brownouts, thanks to a dual rx bypass from Holmes, and a castle bec

Gt3b and c are nice radios stock but well worth finding a friend with a windows to hack it for you, so many more options to use with it.

The dig servo just have 2 end points and the button switches between the 2?

I have a buddy that could probably do the programming part but I think if I ever got to the point where more channels are needed I’d buy a dx5 rugged. Just curious what the 3rd channel on this one can do.

Nope I have 3 points, dig, freewheel , locked .

As I did hack it, I honestly don’t know if the position was stock or hacked.
I believe it is a stock switch setup.

So each time you click the button it rotates between the 3 points? That take programming or does it do that on its own?

This is my first nice radio, never messed with something this fancy lol. My emaxx 10 years ago I kept the stock one till I sold it, then the stock radio that came with this rig.

I just looked it up, it is because of the hack it works that way on ch 3, and from what I read, that is the only way.

That said the hack was incredibly easy, cost was under 15.00 for the module and wires.

Don't quote me on this, it's been years since my radios were stock but i'm pretty sure it was just a 2 position switch, and I don't think you could adjust endpoints either, I could be wrong though it's been years.

So I could stick some rock lights there and turn them on and off but not much else?

I make a winch controller that works on a three-position channel if you really want to run a winch.
Winch Controller for Radio with 2 Position Third Channel

Some other stuff too if you are interested.

Great products always! He makes a light controller for your lights also, I’ve got a couple of them.

I was about to go to your site to look for a light set up, rather have a winch though. Will your controller work on a rc4wd warn? What’s your opinion on the warn vs 3racing?

Yes, my winch controllers will power either winch.
Sorry, I'm not sure which winch might be better. These little scale winches are okay, but I wouldn't expect them to have the power of a servo winch. I like to suggest that you get either one and use it until it fails, then mount up a servo winch behind it so that the line can be fed out through the scale winch. Then it still looks good, but you have some power if you need it.

This page shows all of my winch related stuff in the web store.

Thanks!

This was my exact plan, thanks!
