| AIRTRONICS vs HITEC SERVO
I decided to get rid of the servo savers on my stick clod,Today I stripped the gears in my rear servo HITEC HS-5645MG :-( Are the gears in an AIRTRONICS 94359Z servo any stronger, Has anyone stripped the gears in this servo? Or can any one reccomend a stronger geared servo than the HS-5645MG? Thanks JOHN. |

I have stripped the 359's gear before. $20 to replace. Try the 359's or 5955's good stuff. |

I have yet to have one problem from my 359's and I always strip Sh!tec servos. I will never run anything besides 359's

The 359's are a MUCH better choice over the 5645's Stronger turning power and IMHO a LOT stronger servo all together. Do the 5645's have a heat sink in the servo case? I don't think they do. The heat sink will keep the temps down and keep the servo happier.

The gears in the 5645 are weak, even in our tlt, they don't last long. I haven't seen any stripped gears in a 5995 or 5955, as they have titanium gears. I haven't used a 359 yet, but I have only heard good things about them, and they aren't digital, which means less amp draw, but they don't have as much power as the 5995. You can't go wrong with either the 359 or the 5995.

You also don't need to worry about having end point adjustments on your radio.

I agree. 359's or 5955's. The 5645 will strip gears faster than you can blink. I bought two and stripped the gears within the first 5 minutes on the first one and the gears in the second one 15 minutes after I swapped servos, no joke! That was a bad day for me.:-( POS!! In my opinion, they are only good for a winch servo. Edit: spend the extra money on one with a heatsink. Last edited by chino63; 03-02-2007 at 07:30 PM. |

Well I have been out and spent MORE money.I have brought a Hitec HSC5955TG and fitted it in the front and fitted the Airtronics 94359Z in the rear. I have only run it in the house but it turns VERY FAST I hope this will solve my gear stripping issues |
