Default What is your 4s runtime?

What is your 4s rock crawling runtime (on what battery capacity / car weight)?

I got convinced to go 4s on my first LCG build (brushless), here. I am trying to figure out which battery size will give me about 45-60 minutes of runtime. I don't know the weight yet, let's say around 2kg/4.5lbs.

I guess one of 850 / 1050 / 1300 mAh will cut it, not sure which.

Thanks!

Runtimes for a LCG rig? You got your priorities mixed up. Goal #1 should be a small lightweight battery no matter what the run time is.

Just accept that you will get short run times from the single packs and buy more packs to get the run times you want.

I get maybe 30-35 minutes out of my 650 mah 4S (rig is just under 5lbs). I think I have 4-5 of these and have never used them all up on an outing.

You wont be getting 60 minute run times out of an appropriately sized battery (for LCG), if you do you picked far too big of a battery.

My rigs weigh around 5lbs. I get 45 minutes of "on-throttle" runtime out of a 4s 850. On another rig I use 4s 650's and get a solid 20 minutes.

Your battery capacity is going to be determined more by your goal RTR weight than anything. Even a 1300 pack is gonna be in the 5oz (140g) area, while a 650 is gonna be (unsurprisingly) half that.

I have LCGs in a number of builds, but as a "non-comp" guy it's 1300s for all of my 4S rigs save for my converted Ryft, which gets a 2200. I don't worry much about battery weights, as I have zero lightweight builds.

Runtime on a 4S 1300 can easily hit 90 minutes.

My gspeed v3 phoenix, i run a mamba x with a slate 2850kv on turnigy 4s 1400mah batts n get right at 2 hrs run time. Most of wat we run are trails n rocks for fun, but i do run comps from time to time with it. I need to get some smaller batts for that purpose. As for weight, im goina guess between 4 n 5 lbs

Thanks! I will go with 850 or less.
