Default motor and gear question

I just built two TLT based tubers, one with an Integy 45T the other an Integy 55T. The 45T seems to have a 20 tooth gear the 55T a 15 tooth gear. The big gear on the tranny looks to be 90 tooth on both if I counted right. They are Stampede trannies. The 45T has lots more torque and wheel speed than the 55T. It has more power crawling slow and super wheel speed when needed. Does this sound right or is my 55T motor bad? I run 2.2 tires on both. Forgive my ignorance for not knowing what these gears are called, I am still just a worthless newbie :-( . Here is a shot of them
