Default Just smoked a Hyperion 3013z, DX6????

Ok, I need some serious help here. I just installed my new DX6 on my super. I don't think it was what caused it but... While I was installing it I noticed that the rear Hyperion 3013z was stalling with faster speeds. I didn't know what it was but I wanted to try the DX6. After about 5 minutes I got on it a little and the rear motor started smoking. All of the sudden the motor wires got so hot they unsoldered themselves. What happened? I was running it yesterday with my JR radio w/out any issues. I was able to get them up to full speed with no issues, that I noticed.

By the way, I am running dual Mamba Max esc's, 3 cell lipo.

I am going to running the Hyperions and the DX6.. Hope this thread helps me too.

I do know one thing though! The Crawlmaster broke the three 2.2 rigs that it was installed in today at our comp.

Good luck with you problem.

It must be "fry your 3013s" day.

Mine was my own stupidity though. I didn't notice it was dragging on my chassis slightly. Combine that with forcibly trying to push my way out of binds and POOF. Man, they smoke good.

I will agree, lots of good smoke I took it out, cleaned it out and put it back together and it feels like the bearings are really tight, maybe it was just too much for the little fella.

Did the crawlmaster break or the rigs? I've snapped axle shafts and drive shafts with a hyperion, crawlmaster, and og revolver and drive shafts with a R2. I'm not some of it was my fault, some just because s#%$ happens.

I plugged mine back in and I have an instant smoke machine now. I've swapped it out for another motor. Lets see how long this one lasts.

Did you reprogram the throttle endpoints on the mamba before driving? Many times the dx6 will force the mamba into arming before calibrating the first time.

Just to make sure that I did it right we are talking about when you set the radio to the Mamba? When you turn the ESC on with the throttle on full, then go to reverse with the red light, then to neutral with the yellow. If that is what you are asking then yes, if not then I'm not sure I did.

Sounds like there could have been a bad connection then. If everthing is set up proper and the mamba still works fine, and the radio works fine on other channels, you probably had a shorted connection or loose connection.

I'll make sure to check that when I get a replacement. How do you think it would work to run a combo of a crawlmaster and a 3013, which way would you run them. I have a crawlmaster that I could take out of another rig and put in my super. I would like to get another crawlmaster to match. When will you have them back in stock?

I think the crawlmaster is 200 rmps slower then the 3013's Im not sure they would work well togather..I have smoked a 3013 but it still works hell it seem to have more power.I ended up forgeting to change it back to brushless
