| Skol me on li-ion cell use for RC 3.7 volt 2200mah. so 2 cells would give me 7.4 volts thoughts? |

i'm no batteryologist, but if you want to go li-ion, i'd go with something that is specific to rc, such as the link above.

Max discharge on the E-bay ones is 1.5C. Thats 3.3 amps.......

those cells are 1.5C discharge, which is a whopping 3.3 amps. edit: I type too slow! |

At least 15 amps continuous IMO, but higher voltages and lower wind motors will need higher amp draw capabilities. Stalling a brushed motor is when you really start to see the amp draw increase.

standard li-ions are not good for RC apps. They don't put out much current for starters. They are generally 3.6V nominal and 4.1 charged. ABC123 cells are a newer chemistry and completely different. I don't have much experience with them, but I have heard great things. I will stick with lipos. I've been using them for years in my electric planes. btw... I prefer Dualsky packs from www.2dogrc.com Mike |
