Default Motor???

Ok I just installed a Holmes Hobbies Crawlmaster with 15T pinion into a RC4WD R2 trans... Not gettn a lot of wheel speed which is what I was hoping for... I know the trans are geared super low, and apparently the motor is not made for wheel speed so any suggestions... Was thinking maybe that motor with a AX10 trans and diff gearing might help a little.. Or should I run a diff motor all together with a AX10 tranny... All suggestions would be appreciated as I have lots of torque but really need some wheel speed too for certain situations..

What voltage are you running? Which KV is the motor?

bump it up to 3 cell or 4 cell lipo if you have it, you will need an rx pack or BEC for your steering. That will help your wheelspeed a lot.

I have been running a 3S and a 4S Lipo alot here lately on my MM with both a crawlmaster and a 55 turn with absolutely no problems. As JRH said, you will definately need a RX pack.

You will get definately get some wheelspeed back though.

.....warning.....

driveline parts subject to rapid failure on 4S

Well, put in the AX10 trans, not sure what the spur is, but a 18t pinion... 2 cell lipo makes some good speed.. but a 3 cell damn! torque and wheel speed galore!
