| Waterproof ESC With Lipo cutoff?
Hey guys, I have searched but I can't find out if there is such a thing. What I would like is a waterproof esc that I can run lipo on without having to buy a separate battery cutoff. I am running a 22t 600 (T600) motor in my wheely king trail rig. I have a ProBoat esc in it at the moment, but it doesn't have brakes. It instantly reverses. I don't know how many times I have flipped this thing up on its nose.:-( Does anyone know of such a thing? Thanks |

The mamba max can be waterproofed really easily actually, run a bead of silicon around the heatsink and tape over the usb port.

How much voltage are you trying to run? The Novak Rooster Crawler has a lipo cut off for 7.4v lipo and is water resistant.

I was hoping for 11.1 volts, but 7.4 would be OK. I would be nervous about ruining an esc if it wasn't marked as waterproof. Thanks for the replies. I didn't think there was one on the market, but it never hurts to ask. |

| the rooster is water RESISTANT! not waterproof. Meaning you can splash it, but you can't submerge it. If your bound and determined to run a lipo then I would take John Rob Holmes's advise and get a mamba and waterproof it.

Lipo and water are not very good combinations. The cells can take it, but the terminations are so close to each other that water with about any mineral contamination can short the pack.

| Is it the internal terminals or the terminals on the deans plug that cuase the concern?

The taps on the cells, normally covered in tape. Series construction makes shorting only MM apart with a few layers of insulation tape between the taps. Clean water wouldn't be much of a big deal, but who would be running in perfectly clean water?
