I have had this for a little while and its past time to make it better. I will be doing things and playing and changing things as I can afford to do so but this is a start. Lemme know what u think. I will be clocking the front axles soon so I can protect the motor. Thanks |

Just my thoughts. You really don't need to worry about hurting your motors. Make sure the bushes are not dragging on the rocks, besides that don't worry. One thing I found that I really like is to run straight upper links, so don't clock your motors so much that you have to have crazy bens on your upper links. So far your crawler is looking great, look forward to seeing the build come along. On my front motors I have clocked about 20 degrees and about 25 in the rear.

Cab height from the bottom of the skid to the top of the cab is 3'' at the smallest and goes up to 3 3/8'', I am running straights and thanks for the heads up on the clocking. I have the rear clocked good and on the front a buddy has a clocking jig so I can drill and tap the tubes to clock them and keep the steering geometry the same. I appreciate any insight and thoughts. I will be getting rid of the old electronics tray and most of the electronics if I can. It has a Sidewinder in it and a punk rc dig switch. I would love to go to something more compact like a couple of smashed esc's. It's got a 7955 servo on it and I need to do a little better on my steering I think. Thanks |

To be honest Nigel I don't know what exactly its been getting. How do I know? I run 3s packs and the rig had a bec on it but it wasn't strictly connected to the servo. Mine feels as though it needs more power to have better torque.

Hook it up to your castle link or test the outputs with a multimeter.

Man, that thing looks like hammered ass. Did your kid put it together? J/K looks awesome. Makes me want to build one. And I have a CastleLink if you want to hook up sometime to see. The ccbec is adjustable from 4.7 to 9 volts I believe. Maybe a little more juice will get you there.

Okay so I got a real nice package today, including the DLux delrin fronts and smashed brsl's and a wantamix. I started pulling the cases apart and will probably mill the factory gears as well as grind the cases. This is my first time doing anything except having stock axles. I have a couple of questions. Is there no outer bearing on these tubes? What is the best for the money axle shafts for the front so I can get take advantage of the full steering range that my 8* chubs will allow? Thanks for any and all help |

Updates: Got cases shaved and powder coated them flat black along with the upper link mounts. I changed the front 4'' big bores to 3 1/2'' big bores and it seems more stable now. I am still on hold till I either get a wantamix repaired, a new one, or a 4PL that I am hoping to buy soon. If you didn't get to see my wiring nightmare I have been through it's posted in the electronics forum. So after repairing the wiring on my esc's and that bad wiring frying the wantamix's I am waiting till I can finish this thing till I get something else. Is the Novak M2 Dig just llike the wantamix?? Here's some pics |

Your knuckles are mis matched with 8* and non 8* or on the wrong sides or something... You shouldn't have neg camber.. And i hope that pic of that wiring was the way it was and not the way it is..! |

That wiring pic is how it was, I have repaired it. I do need to get the 8* knuckles for it, does the negative camber hurt anything?

It looked really sketchy... The negative camber is not really a bad thing in theory.... But you have got to be stressing the servo and the parts that are not working right together.. I would suggest getting the right c's or knuckles to free everything up and get it working properly | |
