I did it to mine. It works very well if your into the angled kingpin thing. I didnt love it and went back to vertical kingpin axial knuckles.

Thanks for the responses guys. I'm wanting to get the 0 Ackerman knuckles and I have the opportunity to try out the 8* knuckles. I was hesitant at pulling the trigger due to how well the bergs steering works on its own. I guess since a few of you have had less than desirable results. I'll just stick to the regular 0 Ackerman knuckles instead of the 8* Thanks! |

Its all in what you get use to. I had both on mine. I know of several in state that run the 8* and a couple that dont. Its all your preference.

I really like mine...and I haven't seen many drivers switching to XR's looking for a vertical kingpin setup... I will say it does involve a learning curve. They don' t react the same as the vertical king pins, and do require some weight in the wheels to really work well. Without some...like 1oz...they wouldn't allow my rig to dig around quickly or dig uphill on a side hill. The theory behind the inclined kingpins is solid though... I like my 8* set up, it is just something you have to be willing to play with, meaning tuning so your truck will be able to handle a wider variety of terrain.

Well, I decided to get a set of them. A member here had offered me a set from my Wanted ad for the 0 Ackerman knuckles. I figured that the 8* stuff will work better for people running a wider offset wheel, and since I'm now running a slightly wider setup in front than I had been previously I could possibly benefit from it. Once I get them I'll put them through the paces and let you know my thoughts on the setup. I'm planning on running the same caster angle on both the 8* kingpin and 0* kingpin setups to really compare apples to apples. Then I will start tuning out a bit of caster in the 8* setup to see how it does. Too much caster sounds like the reason that some people don't like the 8* setups. |

I really like the 8* knucks on my berg. I really think that the issue most have with it has to do with knuckle weight placement. The bigron weights and 8* combo doesnt seem (at least, on my truck) to have any of the problems mentioned....

I am running them on my Berg with the VP Knuckle Weights. I really wish I had a set of bigron's weight system. Too bad he stopped making them. My truck has been working pretty good with them so far,but I've only ran at one venue so far.

I love my 8* knuckles . If you get with D_Lux and and get his knuckles you can run 8* or non 8* all in the same knuckle with the option for weighted slugs and weight rings .

This is how "i" set caster first clock your axle. Now zero degree will be parallel from your flat work surface, rotate your knuckle in the direction of desired degree I would try 20* positive first I use 0* knuckles and my caster is set at 35*.I also agree dlux knuckles are the best. Hope this helps |
