Well, I have been hording parts for this project for a while now, but finally decided to put some pressure on myself to get it finished. I started out with a basic set of Berg axles: Completely disassembled them, machined off the motor mounting surface and ground them smooth for clearance: Rounded up all of my aluminum parts: And had them black anodized: Also sent off a CKRC high clearance tube kit for the same treatment: And since the axles were all apart anyway I figured I might as well drill the gears out to help go along with my RCBros lockers: Next up comes axle assembly... Great looking parts list there, love the black finish. Had mine powder coated and ended up tearing that up, but the finish you have looks plain . Look forward to seeing more as you get the rig built up |

I am sure the anodizing will get tore up pretty good too, but it will look good before it gets driven at least! haha Well, realizing that I won't be able to build my axles up properly without the chassis, I whipped it together with some bent links upgraded to 4mm. Here it is (blacked out of course): I didn't really want to bore everybody with a big build sheet to start out the thread, but hopefully you won't get disappointed. There is a bunch of stuff standing by waiting there turn for install... |

By the way, if anybody is looking for a set of stock Berg axle tubes that have been clocked, anodized, and locked out, send me a PM... |

Thanks guys! I am spending a lot of time trying to make it look good, but really, I hope it turns out to be a competitive car... More to come... Here are the blacked out aluminum SCX10 shocks with some custom machined spring retainers... |

Maybe it is overkill, but I am drilling and tapping the low profile tubes for 4mm screws instead of the set screws provided. For some reason I am afraid of failure there...? I will be doing some other stuff to help strengthen a few different areas of concern also... |

wow quick to jump and badmouth ckrc huh? the fitment was super tight on mine. the couple thousandths added by the annodizing was enough for them to not want to go together.

Hey Nabil, Maybe my anodizing is a bit thinner than yours was. It is a snug fit but quite perfect, actually. I have been putting them together, taking them apart, rotating, measuring, etc. and haven't even scratched them yet somehow... I also deburred everything before I sent them to the anodizers, maybe that is helping...? |

What does machining the motor surface flat do for you? I'm new and this is the first time I hear of this mod.
