I don't know if this idea has been done before, but it is a link in the center too control the amount of articulation in the rear axle. It can be tuned by orings.

This has to be the most complex tie rod I have ever made. The steering set up is now complete.

Here is the 3rd version of the front adapter plate, same design as the original one it came with just a different shape and dimensions.

The torsion bar to control articulation only adds .4 oz the the chassis. Even less if you subtract the hardware and braces I took off.

Proof that it actually does work.

Are the holmes 500's worth the added expense? I still need to purchase the electronic for this car.

If you want to spend the money yes they are worth it.
Because I didn't want to spend that much on motors I bought HH crawlmaster 16t 540 motors and really like them.
But I wish I would have just bought 16t puller motors.

I received the sudu 3D chassis in the mail, it was very professionally
packaged.

I spent some time threading in the inserts, easy but takes time.

It is very light, but seems to be very strong.

I made some progress on the Dahu to Dlux berg axles. I modified the rear link mounts so they now clamp to the axle tube with a 3mm screw. Also install the rear straight axles.

I am thinking about using dual tekin fxr's for this car. Is it better to use one 1000 uf 25v cap or to use the ones they come with?

Get an HH Dual Br mini, it's a much better and cheaper. Also, the brminis don't need caps and can run up to a 4s lipo with no mods.

Hi,

Which angle did you apply to the front knuckles/hubs ?
Which one is generally used for a good compromise on all terrains ?

ludo, "bridge" c'est un pont au-dessus de la route, là le terme c'est plutôt "axle"

en tout cas ce sujet parle plutôt de ponts dlux-fab avec le chassis dahu, pas de ponts trialis ;)

I only have about 9* of caster, it only serves to push the wheels back to center faster when you steer. 15*-20* is probably the max you would want, too much will make the car unstable.

I made a link set for the sudu 3d and couldn't resist installing them on the sudu 3d to see how they will work. It's my first time building large radius rear links. It is a shame I have to take the front upper link mount off again to remove 1.89mm to get the front uppers to center.

The link set for the sudu 3D is complete and spent some time making it bind free.

I finished setting up the sudu 3D chassis, had to shorten the rear uppers to 139mm and may shorten the front upper links to 105mm. I also made a pair of dlux style upper link mounts out of 1/8 inch aluminum and cut and drilled a couple titanium spacers to center the upper links. It is completed with the Dravtech shocks and losi springs.

I noticed the shock are too long with the rod ends I have on them. Is the sudu 3d supposed to have 92mm to 95mm long shocks?

I made some more progress on the sudu 3d, flipped the shocks around, changed the spring out for the dravtech ones, shortened the shocks to about 92mm, and made the first version of my battery mount.

After almost one year, the Dahu with dlux fab berg axles is a roller. Still need motors and esc's.
