well my first foff build went from foff to ash to rebuild to not so foff so i decided to build a new foff that handles a little better at high speeds so here we go got the axles in today and started trying to figure out what im gonna mount them to, gonna use the paddles i have, i have a stock ax trans but gonna have to beef it up, and a cc 1406 5700kv motor. Plan is to build a low profile chassis kinda like the whiplash, hopfully i get the delrin in tomorrow for the skid so i can start cutting some stuff out |

i took some lexan and laid over the the drawing, traced it and cut it out. Then took the lexan template and laid it on some 1/16" cf, drilled the holes, bolted it on there with spacers between, cut off the excess with the band saw and then finished it up with the table router then rough cut the other 3 stack them, mounted them to the original and cut them at the same time. still dont have the delrin for the skid so it my be a few days before i have any updates cause i go in for back surgery tomorrow so gonna be down for a couple days. Also ordered some gears for one of the axles is not gonna be locked....i seen a build thread where a guy did the same and it handled a lot better, just cant remember if it was the front or the back, i remember back when we use to race we always did thin oil in the rear and think oil in the front so i'm thinking leave the front locked and open diff in the rear |

Since your going for lightwieght you could look into using some 2.2 buggy wheels for your rims. Alot lighter than beadlocks. Looks like a good start, keep it up.

Low stance will be good for the sand. Looks good. What is the wheel base now? |

Went ahead and made the body mounts and mounted the body, hopefully i can get it painted tomorrow, the way it sits right now with no esc, servo or battery it weights in at 3.192 pounds, i could have saved a little weight with the delrin links but the stainless ones are easier to make and just flat out look better |
