Yep, been done by several guys on here. What would be your reason for swapping axles?

portals have more lash then standard axles. That's normal for them.

Those are straight cut gears in the portal boxes as I remember. Strongest type and backlash is what comes with em. Does not hurt anything

Loving mine, haven't had issues with my gmade axles, I am actually trying to get my wife started in the hobby and I'm going to build her an r1

here is "the pink lady" with wraith axles, had to run the upper links on the outside of the chassis, but it works hella good! |

HOLEY GIANT PICS BATMAN!!!! Trying to look at it but all the scrolling makes it difficult. I like it as best I can see it. edit: they just now resized and I can see em completely. I like it! they look good under there! Having the upper links on the outside helps with the overall triangulation which in turn helps keep that axle located correctly. Nice job! Now you don't have to worry about those weak portal gears and pins. As awesome as they look I wish someone would make freaking axle upgrades!!

how much flex does the chassis allow at the mounting point? Mine are mounted normally and I can see some chassis flex in that area. I'm tempted to reinforce that area with a plate but just haven't actually done it.

| Re: gmade r1 w/wraith axles ive just checked it, i assume your talking about the upper links? their seems to be no flex under load, nothing is binding. my suspension setup is a little weird. my front links are longer in the front, and runing g-made shocks, droop in the rear and sprung in the front to keep the ride height the same. 60/40 style.

does one need to use the wraith links for the wraith axles or will the stock links work as well?
