| 1.5 vs 1.9 inch rims
I just picked up a used Sawback with many upgrades. But somebody has replaced the body and changed out the tires to 1.5 inch beadlocks rims. It came with three sets of tires but none of them really appeal to me. Is it worth switching back to 1.9 inch rims or should I stick with the 1.5 rims and just find tires I like? Which size offers the better selection in tires? Thanks |

1.9s will give you many more options. Is it the stock body? If so, I personally think it's a big shell, so 1.9s look best. I've put 1.55s and they just don't look right. I have the RC4WD Blazer body on my SCX10 and the Sawback, Sawback is bigger than the Blazer.

Not the stock body. It looks like a 1950's truck body. I am hoping to get an original body and correct bumpers for it at some point.

Rough calculations though, at 1/10 scale (10%), your 1.9s would be closer to a 19in wheel and 1.55s would be closer to a 15-16in wheel. So if you like changing them or having multiple options and bigger tires, go 1.9. If you like a more scale look, go with 1.55 or even 1.7s, but you will lose options in both wheels and tires. | |
