| So I was thinking (new comp ideas)
First off if this seems a bit disjointed and confusing, blame badger or whoever screwed up the server. So I was driving on my Leftover Crap Crawling Course (or LCCC, hence the capitals ). And I relized that it wasn't full on crawling, but it was more so than trial truck type stuff, but it was quite fun. I then came up with some rules for what I now call, Rock racing. Basicly you have a course and the goal is to get as far as fast as possible (think truck pulls). There are no penalties for backing up or missing a gate (as there are only 2), but your run ends the when you flip your truck. There should also be different courses that vary alot in the terrain. so to recap Distance & Time = score (truck pull) No penalties Rollover = end of run Terrain varied, but not full blown rock crawling for whole run Different stages (consisting of courses) Can be a find your own way, or follow the path type of course. |

So basically I line my truck up at the starting line and hit the gas, I hold the gas until I either finish, or flipover? Doesn't sound like much skill is involved. |

Well the scoring ends the similarity's between this and a truck pull. No the courses would be hard, full of side hills, steep asscents/desscents. Bridges made out of rebar, tight turns, rocks, and generaly anything you want (I have sacks of potting soil as an opstical right now).

if you wanted to make it a bit more challenging, have gates that give time penalties if hit or gone around. kinda like downhill skiing and biking. but uphill and with crazy climbs and messes. im on it man. i just dont have anything fully running that fast yet. there was a long thread about this a while back... |

I know I like progression points in standard comp settings. This is nice that it opens it up to all around wheeling instead of straight rocks. Dosent even have to be all around stuff just make easier rocks than typical courses so as to speed it up a bit. Has its good side. Depends on how you feel that day.

Nothing wrong with 2nd gear low low on the camp road holding people up. It is still crawling right. Go to get to the rocks somehow.

Diggler are you just flaming for the sake of flaming, or do you really not like the idea? If so why?

just by somewhat knowing digler, he is not flaming to just be flaming.. he thinks the idea sucks by reading his replies I like rocks myself. if i wanted to do rock racing and mud and water and all other stuff, i would have stayed with a nitro truck. that way i wouldnt have all the electronics to worry about... just sling it and get it |

i could build an electric rock racer that would thrash any nitro all day and still compete with purpose built crawlers.. the power to weight ratio's and lower cg of electric gives it an unfair advantage. the only water hazard that is different between a nitro and electric is the motor and esc. i do respect nitro though. it is fun, and once you can keep an engine running right you can have a whole day of fun without constant cycling of packs on the charger. well, you would need extra reciever and transmitter packs. |

Maybe a better way to descibe it instead of truck pulls would be its like monster truck races. They have obsticals and turns and such and the fastest wins. Sounds like a great idea to me. I'd be all up fer tryin it out. |

If you like rocks so much then run set up the courses on the rocks! It would just be a different way of scoring then.
