| "Purivol" 2.2
Axles are built around Axial transmissions and knuckles, using dogbones with suitable length. The idea is ofcourse stolen from SVEN's build (Custom 2.2 axles using Axial transmissions). From his troubles I learned that the only(?) way to make this work is to use slippers for the transmission. Specs are: 2x quark 33a universal ESC 2x BM16 motor 3s lipo In the picture I am still running sidewinder esc's, but that didn't work out with the 25:1 gearing so I had to change to quarks. I have also changed the body to Grappler because the C10 was deemed illegal under the local rules. I know they have nothing on the Berg axles, but I still enjoy running them |

Looks like the shaft angle from tranny to wheel is much better on yours. How much clearance do you have under the axles? Got any more pics?

Front: Back: Side: Knuckle mount: Under axle clearance is 55mm (a bit over 2"). C10 had to go because our rules say that the body must be 1:10 scale or bigger. And the grappler looks better too And yes I know the chassis looks fragile. It is my third attempt and atleast now I went from too little flex to too much. Which works better for me. But I will try again when I get my hands on some suitable material. |

So your flex comes from the backbone twisting?

Nice, job of thinking out of the box, very creative. Kind of like a torsion spring!

Nothing really original here. Just watched my axial spare parts for too long and put some great ideas seen on this forum to use.

Aye, the torsion bar chassis design is a common one on MOAs, especially in Super class rigs. The funniest one I saw used plastic wiring conduit as a back bone, it was a bit *too* flexible though Last edited by BritCrawler; 08-03-2008 at 02:52 AM. | |
