| New Crawler for the Comp!!
Finally got her finished. The car is a tube framed crawler with TxT-1 axles, and tranny. The main thing about this chassis is that the tranny is flipped upside down for lower COG. The first proto-type didnt have savage shocks, and didnt work or look right. Now with the savage shocks it seems much more stable and smother when articulating. We'll here's some pics! This was the chassis before I modded it for the savage shocks |

Looks good. I like the Cruiser nose . Also can you tell a real difference with the inverted tranny. I thought about doing it with a E-maxx tranny but havent had the funds to build another crawler yet to see if it worked.

I definately think it helps. I dont have any shaft twist, which was the main difference. I'm sure you would also notice more of a difference running two motors, because right now I'm only running one. It really wasnt that hard. The truck has 4 inches of clearance under the chassis right now and had 5 inches at first. The drive shafts didnt bind at 5 inches but 4 just seems to work better. Plus if you were to do it with a maxx tranny it would probably be much easier. Because the TXT tranny is oddly shaped.

I li8ke it. Especially the functioning hood. Also the square look of the frame looks great and old school.

Damn that thing is nice. I really dig the simple square look for the frame/body. You people and your tubers.................it's just not fair...........why can't I know how to weld! |

Sweet! One question, why didn't you run the battery below the drive shaft...?

I see that you changed your mind on the rear from the first pic. I really want to build a tuber but I have just been lazy. After seeing your cruiser and the tubicon I really want to make a scale version of my 1:1 Heep (minus the rockwells). What welder did you use? All I have is a Millermatic 175, If I turn it all the way down I think that I will burn strait through the brakeline. Also, what are you using to clean up the welds, a dremel or are you using some sort of bondo-ish filler. |

For welding I just used a simple 120 mig welder. But I didnt use brakeline, I used solid rod. I like to be able to jump on my cages when I'm done. The weight isnt even bad at all it weighs maybe a pound more then the stock TxT-1. To clean up the welds all I did was use a dye grinder.
