Default Hairba11's torsion Poulson

Started working on gathering parts for a comp rig a while back.

I'm making my own Piano wire chassis with a set of poulson axles and a Ax10 trans with VF dig.

that is a 4mm castle to deans adapter.

I filed the connectors on the deans plug just a little to fit them into the wire conectors on the female 4mm bullets, then filled the ends with solder to connect them.

I bought the MM used and it already had the deans on it, So I just made an adapter for the cobalt.

Hope those axles and ring/pinions hold up with a puller and Rovers. Good luck.

the rovers were nice, but I couldn;t get them to hook up as well as the panthers, I need to get some more foam for them.

the transmission has a slipper on it, and 3 ring and pinions later, i think I have it set as tight as I can, at least for another 3 weeks or so till PTi releases the metal gears.

with the panters on I get ~2" under the pumpkin and 3" under the center skid.

with everybody running bugs or rockstars or grapplers I went with something different for a lid.

This was a trial run, a location where the first R&P got blown out.

after getting the panthers on it and getting the slipper set I'm doing better

it works pretty good. I have the rear body posts tight to the body, and the front posts uncut with the body clip about an inch above the fender. i get easy flex for the first inch, then it startes having to twist the lexan body like a helper spring. overall i like it more as I drive it.
I am more comfortable with my old comp rig, but i know it isn't a great vehicle.
This thing will be good once I get all the bugs worked out of it.

This is the method i'm using to mount the axles.

I have a different willys body I scrubbed out and painted with krylon fusion flat black. it has stood up to a years worth of abuse and is now on a B4 buggy.

This one was scrubbed out in the same method, and painted with the same paint, and it flakes off.

so i hit the inside of it with translucent red last night to fill in the "holes"

i figure as more chips off, i'll put another layer on.
it almost looks blood stained.

Drove the body off it, got a replacement willy's for it.

rounded off the billet output shaft for the trans front so I'm waiting on another.

The battery didn't have enough juice to feed the puller, so I added a second, now 3s2p with a battery oon the rear tray and the ESC on top of it.

Need to find a b attery that can crank out 55 or 60 amps continuous whil beeing ~100mm long so it will still fit between the front wheels.

This thing is the fastest rig on it's roof
