Default R2 tranny questions

I am purchasing an r2 tranny and was wondering what the gearing was like on it. it has a dig also. I have a 75t motor but was wondering what motor would be best to run with it.

Depends on the kind of wheel speed you want and what battery you run. Most guys are happy with a 12-13 tooth pinion.

You will be king of the crawlers if you run that 75t

Get a 55t and a higher toothed pinion gear Like R4L said and you will be happy.

I am running a 12tooth in my R2 in my new scaler. (Goat System on 2cell Lipo) It is quicker than the crawl speed of the 8tooth. I will be putting in a 16tooth to try that out for more of a crawler/trail rig kinda flexibility.

that's what gear I'm running in my R2, (16T) it still crawls fine, but has a tiny bit more wheel speed. The truck doesn't go any faster than my normal walking pace when going 'flat out' across my yard to get into the garden.

Will an R2 tranny fit on a axial ax10 skid? Without hanging over the chassis plates?

75T will be too slow for me.. I'd go in the 40-50t range

Yes.. I also have a 2.75in Skid that will Narrow you up and still keep all of the r2 Tranny in the chassis too.
