my take on a homemade indoor rock course hey everyone, I've been deciding on what to do for an indoor rock course, ive searched and searched and came upon this http://www.aroararacing.org/forum/vi...php?f=11&t=392 I was facinated by it, and then i knew what i wanted to do, so i got a bunch of boxes and started to form them into rocks and then got 6 cans of great stuff foam(still need about 3 more) and covered it with it, im still deciding on what to cover it with like burlap with mortor, or chicken wire with concrete ect.. and opinoins welcome! so here it is now, it still needs to cure, i dont think i did to bad as im only 14, ill keep updating with pics. as i get along, so ill stop blabbing and get on tot he pics, http://i447.photobucket.com/albums/q...GCOURSE001.jpg http://i447.photobucket.com/albums/q...GCOURSE002.jpg http://i447.photobucket.com/albums/q...GCOURSE003.jpg And this is the part that still needs to be covered, http://i447.photobucket.com/albums/q...GCOURSE004.jpg please let me know what you think!"thumbsup" |

here's a couple pics http://i685.photobucket.com/albums/v...526091621a.jpg http://i685.photobucket.com/albums/v...526091700b.jpg http://i685.photobucket.com/albums/v...526091659a.jpg after carving it I covered it with old metal window screen and coated it with waterproof grout or stucco... http://i685.photobucket.com/albums/v...601091023a.jpg this was a small piece to try it, only 4 ft by 4ft about 18 in thick. It is strong, I weigh over 200 and can stand on it no problem. can be a little heavey but can be moved if needed. I tried the spray foam first, but it just didn't get completely hard and was preety expensive if you want to do a big course. nice work though, way to use your head and come up with something. hope this helps Tom |
