http://www.mcmaster.com/# is probably one of the most popular with guys here. There's MANY others though.

me and another guy on here got our delrin from indplastics.com

you might be able to find some locally, but in my area it wasn't too common to find. lowes or any home improvement places like that didn't carry it here.

Check your phone book for a local plastics company.....the one I go to has a scrap bin in the back that they throw cut-offs and small pieces in. They let people take what they want for free and it's a good place to get scraps since everything I need is small anyway.

Free scrap is definitely the best kind of plastic!

Which plastics company are you talking about?

I'll have to swing by and check it out...

I go to a local place called ss plastics, i ordered from mcmasters once but the shipping costs where more than the price difference between mcmasters and ss platics.

KEEP OUT OF MY STASH

Actually it's a place called Colorado Plastics on Pearl St. in Boulder. The scrap bin is on the west side of the store.

They don't always have a good assortment to choose from, but I swing by there once in awhile and score some pretty good blocks.

They also have a scrap pile inside that they will let you look through. Those pieces are larger and more usable but they charge you.....at a lower price though.

Word of caution on McMaster... buy enough to make the 6foot shipping tube it comes in worthwhile. It was $11 to ship to my house here in AZ, and I ordered some 1" setscrews that shipped in a different box for $5.50.. so $16 shipping for $24 in parts...

Wow 16 bucks in shipping on a 24 dollar buy would make think twice about ordering

Thats the greatest part about ordering from McMaster... You don't get a shipping estimate...

The shipping wasn't "High" or anything, it was appropriate for the size of the package, just buyer beware when placing a blind order like that...

Considering your getting mailed 6 foot long mailing tube $10 really isn't bad.;) Buy in bulk and save. I don't think it will ship cheaper anywhere else.

For me it's pretty cheap as Mcmasters is only 2 hours away.

Similar here.....McMaster's Warehouse is only 10 minutes from my office.....so I run there whenever I need stock (Weekly). No shipping charge that way.
