| Land rover crawler?!
Just picked up this little thing. Jesus I hope it sits right. As soon as its in my hands its being torn down and then the fun begins. I'm thinking waterproof esc, tlt axles, swamp dawgs, I don't know what else. Anyone have any Q's comments or rips?

Not a bad find my man. Without seeing it firsthand I cant give you any good advice. DO have fun converting it into a crawler and DO spot us a few pics of your little project...that thing is pretty cool .

I'll bet Rizzo jumps all over that one. Nice find. Those are hardbodies so it'll be a little heavy, but for a scale rig it should be just the ticket. They have great detail and you'll be the only one on your block with one (likely the only one in the whole state). PICS! WE WANT PICS! But it's coming from the UK so we're gonna have to wait.... |

I'm thinking steel exo cage with bruiser style frame. I also wanted to attempt putting the tranny and motor in the engine bay. Anyone have any ideas on what I could use for a t-case?

so is it going to be a crawler or more of a trail rig? especially with the exo cage it might be to heavy to do serious crawling but you never know.

making your own transfer case probably wouldnt be all to hard if you have a drill press and some time and some good planning you should be good cant wait to see it done haha

This is mostly a trail rig but I really do want it to be able to crawl a little. Nothing crazy but respectable. I'm actually searching for a new drill press. My shop got robbed. What a burgalar would want with a drill press I don't know, but then again the hamburgalar made a living out of stealing hamburgers. I have a bunch of old XC and clod gears lying around so I might aswell give it a try. I also have some old losi and stealth trans. They're pretty small once the motor mount is taken off. Terry |

Got the rover todaay. Great christmas present. Its too late to start any real work on it. I think I'm going to stick with the swamp dawgs. I was also considering XC wheels but whats the fun in a truck that can't make it over a pebble. Here's a basic layout. |

That'll make a great scale trail rig, I like the idea of a Bruiser style chassis. The Swampers fit the look nicely. Are you going to re-paint it? It would look killer in a matte-finish olive drab |

I'm going to try a bruiser style chassis with a losi trans under the hood and a second one for a transfer case in the center. I definately want a winch and some "Warn look" bumpers. I was thinking matte olive or tan. I've spent the last half hour staring at it and I think I'm going to trim up the fenders a little for clearance. I love getting a new project going!

It was 40 bucks shipping. A little harsh but man I love this body. Wound up being 100 US total. I just love the look of rovers.

I've tried to pick up a 1:1 here, but they are either too far gone or way overpriced. I would love a decent series II. Actually any early Rover would be great. As long as you can deal with Lucas (aka Lucifer) you can't really kill one.

Why is it when you go to a German page you feel like you are being yelled at? I saw the Landy and I saw "sorry ausverkauft." besides it. I guess I will keep trying. |
