| Return to center steering shut off?
Does anyone else dislike the auto centering of the steering? I can't help but feel like something is going to break when the front tires are wedged against an obsticle and the steering motor is trying to return to center. Do you think there is a way to dis-able this feature? Would it be as easy as taking apart the transmitter and removing a spring? Or would this not be a good idea for some reason? Keith |

I've noticed this too and would also like to know if it can be disabled. I've noticed when you're in a dicey situation on the rocks, it can get you off balance at times. Otherwise, a great crawler. Matt |

I was running my jeep the other day and I heard a snap in my controller.I then noticed that when I turned the steering wheel, my tires did not center themselves.Well i thought nothing of it and so I kept running it.It goes a lot better without this feature.

Return to center is an easy-off deal. The remote is a two piece deal, you just remove the screws from the upper portion of the remote, and remove the white background for the "dash", then its two screws that hold the steering control portion to the actual remote. You pull the two screws off and the steering return to center is nothing more than a spring and a cantilever, just slide that assembly off of a peg and now you don't have return to center, its a great mod and you get used to driving w/o it, its ALOT easier on the front end...but then again i broke a pitman arm so |

just finished and played with it for a little and i love it. at first i thought i might not like it comeing back to center by itself but after i tried it i love it, you don't have that little spring trying to pull it back to center when your holdingit turned, its easier to turn quickly and it dosen't seem to put as much stress on the steering. do it and don't look back |

Hell you guys made it complicated to take off... All I did was took the back cover off and used a tiny screwdriver to pop the spring off, then I put the cover back on. Just open the back of controller up turn the steering wheel and you'll see the spring, use a small eye glasses screw driver and pop that spring off, shake the controller to get the spring out. Put it somewhere and your done. |

i think the motor has something to do with it when it's at full lock and you turn the remote off it returns to center or maybe i'm just stupid which i think is my best bet |
