I used this link http://www.toyotaoffroad.net/afertig/88/nylintredux.htmI've done two so far, and it's very easy, plus you don't need another truck for parts.

I used that lnk as well. IMO the 5:1s seem a bit low, even with 2.2s. I may end up swapping in 4:1s instead.

That's funny. That's the same thing I thought, and I don't even have the 2.2's yet. I took the rear back apart to swap the 4:1, but it doesn't fit. The sun gear is too big(which is why it's 4:1 and not 5:1) to fit into the other planataries. It seems a little too low, but after I've gotten used to it, I like it. It drives up things that aren't possible when you switch it to the old low range, and it takes the place of not having porportional throttle.

the 4;1 will fit, i've done it. i like it much better. take your 5:1 out, put the gear

box back together like it originally was. now put the four to one between the motor

and the first planetary. TRUST ME it WILL work!!

I didn't think of that! I was trying to fit it in where the 5:1 was. I'll wait and see how it is with the 2.2's a go from there. Thanks

Yeah, but you can't, or shouldn't, really go bigger in tires on the 1:6 either.

Yeah, now we just need stronger rears so we can actually use the 2.2s w/o stripping gears.
