Default Blazer for 1:18 scale

Ok, after seeing a few adapt different bodies to the 1:18 scale nylints I've been thinking about doing something similar to mine. Except I want to make it similer to my 1:1 which is a 75 K5 Blazer. Now I know There is not squat out for that year or any Blazer up to 91 out in the toy market right now. Nylint did make a pressed steel toy way back in the 70's . They are close to the right size at least.

Ebay usually has a few floating around. Here's one:

Linking the new nylint with the old nylint might be cool too. I do realize that the pressed steel body is going to be heavier than the plastic Jeep body. Pro's, the weight will keep the chassis planted. Con's, higher CG (tippy) and added stress to the drivetrain.

I'm not looking to make a full blown comp crawler. Just something that resembles my truck and can still be a decent crawler.

Am I crazy?

Good idea, but that Nylint body will be way too small. I have a Nylint Toyota pressed steel body like that, and the wheelbase is only 6.5 inches, and too small for the nylint chassis.

Thats the dimension that I havent been certain on. Overall length is around 12" which could work, but I don't have an actual nylint blazer to measure up. I've got a buddy that does. I'll have to measure it this weekend.

The Blazer should be the same scale as my 4Runner, so hair bigger.

Here's a comparison shot of my Nylint and 4Runner

Sweet. Now I got to snag one off of ebay. Thanks for the pics kickback. Oh and look closer at the pics on the ebay link. Its the exact same truck, just with the roof and the grille is painted black. The black color makes it hard to see but the grille is identical to yours.

Thanks again!
