Question shocks......??

Ok. I am curious as to what you run shock wise? What type of springs/oil wt.? etc. etc.

Not 100% happy w/mine atm. No leaking or anything. Kinda hard to explain it really.

I know this is strictly a personaly pref. but I would like to know what is being used.

Thnx in advance.
Sabo.

What rig?

I've always ran Losi's. They leak a bit, but no more or less than any of the others. Of course, rebuilding them every couple of years wouldn't be a bad idea.

Actually it makes a lot of difference on what rig. But with that comeback, use the search! Shocks and oils are a big part of tech, been covered and recovered a bunch o times.

The truck and specifics about it (chassis, link mounts, etc) make a BIG difference on what shock is used. Some are too long....some are too short. People running certain chassis have to use one length of shock while others with a different chassis, but same drivetrain, must run a different length shock.

IMO, some of the best shocks out there are made by Kyosho.....my particular flavor is the Velvet shock from the RT5. They dont leak and are smoother than any shock I have ever used. However, they are slightly longer than 4" eye to eye and wont work with the T1E chassis...

So, with that said, can you give any specifics about the truck to which you refer?

Well I am just trying to go for "general" on the shocks. I am really trying to not narrow it down to a specific type of truck/chassis. Hope no one thinks I am being a prick or anything. Really not trying to be. Just looking fo gen. info on what ppl use is all.
Thnx JeremyH for input.

Which model? And again, which truck will you be putting these on? They might not be the correct length for your application...

I am really liking the aluminum traxxas big bore 4". They are great for internal springs. I have a set setup at 50/50 droop/sprung but need some softer springs in them. You can get a big set of assorted springs at some hardware stores and experiment with them. I like running heavy oil, 90wt or more. Used on heavier scale rigs.

Big Bores with the cap mod are the smoothest shocks I have used to date, and work great on my MOA.

Yes Sabohead, Losi gold springs are very soft.

What MOA? What chassis? Like I explained earlier, details about your setup will help provide accurate information. If you are running a berg with the T1E chassis, then those shocks will be too long.

BTW, I have used the Proline Powerstroke Scaler shocks and they work well.....but I have not heard good things about the model you listed.
