Clocking MOA Exceed Mad Torque Rock Crawler axles has anybody tried clocking these axels? is there anything i need to watch out for? |
Clock the rear away, no steering to worry about. You cant turn the nuckles in the front, so if you play with it too much it will eff your steering up. Heres the rear of my mad crawler. Used stock bent axial lowers as uppers. The bend was necessary like this so it wouldant hit the motor on up travel. http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w...3/111_0241.jpg Good luck. I my front has been reworked with axial and exceed links, but did not clock the axle because I wanted to keep my steering in check. |

You would only be able to do 90* clocks, that is likely a bit much. I would think 15 - 30* would be better which means drilling new holes. |

Re: Clocking MOA Exceed Mad Torque Rock Crawler axles I discovered the only way is to drill/c-sink new holes in the cases. Really dislike the motor hanging. I'm guessing 20-30 degrees should do it. I'm going to give this a try in the not so near future. Too many mods all at the same time. I will let you know how it works when I get it done. 8) |

Re: Clocking MOA Exceed Mad Torque Rock Crawler axles I have Clocked the rear axle to approx. 35-40 degrees. Difficult to do if you're not accurate at laying out new hole locations. I recommend asking a machine shop to do it for you. I am a machinist and drilled/countersunk new holes then used plastic epoxy to close up old holes and seal axle housing to gear box. If any one is interested, I'll post some pics. Not sure if I'll clock front axle due to battery and servo placements taking up too much room. I am designing a skid plate from 1/16 aluminum for front motor. Details to follow. "thumbsup""thumbsup" |
