long travel shocks
 

Hello, i'm looking for some suggestions on some shocks with a good amount of travel so i can start looking in the right directions. "thumbsup"

I get my shocks from rc4wd.com they have crawler shocks up to 120mm (all metal)

Actually RC4WD has shocks all the way up to 204mm. That would make for some crazy flex.

Edit: 204mm is the overall lenght, travel is a mere 130mm. LOL

...they're high speed, baja shocks...not really designed for crawling, but hey, go for it"thumbsup"

what travel are your current shocks? That way we can help you a little better with something of quality and longer than you have.

HPI Savage shocks were always the standard for long shocks.

You should probably give some more info, why do you want long travel shocks?

180 degree articulation?

I can't for the life of me figure out why some one would want that much, sure it looks cool but does not ever seem to function as well as one would think. I personally have limiters to keep from over articulating on stock LCC shocks.

That is what he is refering to, 180 degrees is a joke that has been around here for years and years.

i currently have stock rock force shocks(no idea on the length or travel) and im not pleased with them at all and i have a wreckluse chassis on the way that im putting my rock force axles in and figure ill need some bigger/better shocks as the wreckluse looks like it sits high up"thumbsup" basically looking for all metal body (preferred) and a descent length as i don't prefer the droop set up for what i do.

You DON'T need long travel shocks for the Wreckluse. A standard 4" shock will work.

I'd think some SCX-10 shocks with a cap mod would work really well for that chassis.

Big Bore XL or Losi Crawler.

Their shocks look good but don't perform anywhere near like the others.

I like the Traxxas shocks as well.

Traxxas 2660 is 3.5" long
Traxxas 2661 is 3.75" long
Traxxas Big Bore XL is 4" long

they all use the same hardware, and are pre-assembled before you get them. Just add oil and springs (Except for the big bore XL which has springs)
These shocks are stupid easy to cap mod, and work awesome with no leakage.

Bought some Traxxas big bore shock (for E-Maxx, p/n: 4962 i think), the spring (red) that come with it is way too stiff. Any alternative spring? The shock is 19mm (3/4") in diameter, not many spring i can found will fit..:cry:

Losi springs for their 4" shocks will fit.
Or you can get lower cups to fit mini-t springs, check the vendors section for the details on them.

I have checked out the vender section and found the Jeepindoug's lower cup for mini-T spring. But it would be easier if I can just get a softer spring to fit.
