Default rc4wd r2

ive been converting my wheelyking into more of a scaler and ive decided that the stock transmission wont work out for what i'm trying to do.

ive been looking at the r2 but i dont know which one to get and if there even worth the money.

i know i dont need a dig trans. and i dont think i have room for the 2 speed so ive been looking and cant decide between:

or:

how slow does the v2 make it go? and would either handle a brushless setup if i ever get the cash to switch?
