| Few questions
1st off....NICE site! Im looking for a crawler for my son and I. I dont know anything about crawlers but we do have rc stuff.. helis, plans and a nitro truck. Im willing to spend 300 to 450. It has to be BIG...my son said its a must. 1/8..no smaller the 1/10th scale I seen the Max stone 8 and the Red Cat Rock slide. They look pretty simlalr....I seen yall have a Red Cat section, does anyone know anything about the Max Stone? I've seen that a few guys have had trouble with the gears and I dont see any upgrades any where. Other than those two Im looking at the Losi Night Crawler or the Wraith Also..I have a Team Associated XP3 3-channel 27Mhz AM Transmitter from my Monster GT. If i can find a BND, would I be able to use this radio and the recever? Thanks for any feed back. |

Wraith would be my choice, It kinda fills a lot of areas of this side of the hobby....all in one truck.

I'll third that on the Wraith, loads of fun, and lots of options for it.

It depends what you want. For the sake of getting out there and having fun I recommend a scaler, they are just fun...The great thing about them is that unlike a comp style rig (what the lnc would be) they are fun on any terrain. A comp style rig will need some serious obstacles to be challenging. I vote for a wraith or scx-10 of some flavor. If you are interested in building it from scratch both are offered in kit form (the scx-10 honcho is being discontinued in kit form so get one quick) and depending on the age of your son that could be a very fun time working on it together. To clarify, all the Losi bind and drive vehicles only work with spektrum radios. Let us know how it goes and welcome to the forum! |

On the SCX10, The body does come painted right? I know it says ready to run. I guess I'll let me son pick. It will be the Wraith, SCX10 or the Losi. What will probably happen is, We'll end up with two of the three . What kind of batt and charger should is get? Thanks guys. |

The losi isn't bad, but the worm gears in the night crawler and competition crawler take a lot more work to keep running right (regular maintenace). this isn't to say they aren't good machines, but they need more love to not eat gears. A.D. |

I would sorta suggest looking for decent 2.4ghz radios, then get rigs that either are rollers (no electrics) or basic electrics (no radio). The most 2.4ghz common radios used for crawlers are: Futaba (3PM-x & 4PL cover most of what you want for a decent price, my son & I run 1 of each) Spektrum (various flavors) FlySky GT3B (LosiKid, on this forum, makes a highly modded version for VERY little money.) | |
