My son's almost 4. He likes my crawler, so I got him this one for thirty bucks to get used to. Bought some rechargeable batts and charger. It's great for him! Actually pretty hard to turn it over. I put my stock Losi tires on it and the grip is night and day even on those pieces of crap. It has alot of clod stall, and the steering is intermittent, but at that price it's a great toy. Lots of articulation, and it actually goes pretty good. I hate that it doesn't have digital steering and throttle--it's all or none--, but he doesn't care. By the time he beats the crap out of this thing, maybe he'll be ready for a Losi. |

The trick to these is to carve out the battery tray and run a 9.6v flatpack. The electronics have no issue with this and it gets way more power. But you also get way more wheelspeed too! makes it harder to control but WAY more fun. ESPECIALLY for a kid. I lend mine out all the time for some abuse from a 4yr old. it keeps on trucking!! |
