| clod tuber
i am making a clod tuber i have the plans all drawn out but i have some questions. First of all i can't find 1/4" steel tubing second of all the specs are going to be 16.5" long 5" wide 5.4" tall but is that wide enough for clod axels third of all i have a great little duratrax sprint esc the BEC is 5.0 V /1.0A is that enough for 4ws and finally (i know this is super long but i'm new) i added it all up and i came out to 12 feet of tube or did i screw it up?

12 ft will most likely not be enough. i have never personally built a tuber. but i know that rckjeep once used 80 some feet on a tlt tuber.

I use atleast 2 10 foot sticks on a small truck it goes alot faster than what you think and just starting out you will make alot of mistakes.

As for tubing I have used 12 feet just to doing an exo cage, it depends how techinical you get, I would think even if you keep it basic its going to me more but hey you never know. Mike | |

80 feet? WTF Anyway, I'm guessing around 15 feet would be good. And as for not being able to find 1/4 inch steel tubing you should try checking at just about any automotive store for some 1/4 inch brake line tubing. It is cheap, strong and brazes up real nice. |

I used just under 10ft on my last tuber. I bought 44ft of 3/16in solid rod and built 3 tubers from that.
