Talking clod tuber

i am making a clod tuber i have the plans all drawn out but i have some questions. First of all i can't find 1/4" steel tubing second of all the specs are going to be 16.5" long 5" wide 5.4" tall but is that wide enough for clod axels third of all i have a great little duratrax sprint esc the BEC is 5.0 V /1.0A is that enough for 4ws and finally (i know this is super long but i'm new) i added it all up and i came out to 12 feet of tube or did i screw it up?

12 ft will most likely not be enough. i have never personally built a tuber. but i know that rckjeep once used 80 some feet on a tlt tuber.

I use atleast 2 10 foot sticks on a small truck it goes alot faster than what you think and just starting out you will make alot of mistakes.

I dont think they BEC is strong enough as its only 1 amp... I would try to get something that pushes 5 volts and 3 or more amps.

As for tubing I have used 12 feet just to doing an exo cage, it depends how techinical you get, I would think even if you keep it basic its going to me more but hey you never know.

80 feet? WTF

Anyway, I'm guessing around 15 feet would be good. And as for not being able to find 1/4 inch steel tubing you should try checking at just about any automotive store for some 1/4 inch brake line tubing. It is cheap, strong and brazes up real nice.

I used just under 10ft on my last tuber. I bought 44ft of 3/16in solid rod and built 3 tubers from that.

No don't go there. Just go to your local Auto store that carries brakeline, or find some metal shop and get solid rod. McMasters shipping is crazy. I just bought 6ft of tubing that cost me under 5 bucks. The shipping was 17 bucks. And they don't showing the shipping intill it charges you card.
