| Land Rover body question
Has anybody used this body in a 2.2 crawler? I'll like to see how it looks before buying it, the only picture I have looks, just wrong, maybe because the ugly blue color. |

I bought one that is similar. Slightly different cab design, but pretty much the same thing. It is ok. Not enough detail and the quality isn't that high, but if done right, can look decent (from a distance). I painted mine U.S. Military O.D. green on the inside of the body. A little too glossy. You can compare it to what it looks like on the trailer which is painted over aluminum. The body is a little narrow and it bows outwards at the door jam, so you need to restrain the bottom of the body to your chassis. I built this rig & trailer in 6 hours one night just to get to a competition, so it isn't perfect, but can be fixed and detailed to look nice. I chose to bend up tube frame rails and ran leaf springs and shackles on all four corners in typical rover fashion. Here are a couple of pics. -Sam |

I knew there was something I liked about you slinky. Too bad they don't have a Disco body. |

There was a Disco made actually. But they're pretty much impossible to find. They were made by Robbe.

Sam, Paint on the outside, that'll give the "flat" look. Just spray the inside more of a metal color so when the paint on the outside gets scratched, it'll look like metal under the paint. That side shot make the Rover body look more like a Jeepster/Scout 800A hybrid. | |
