Default Stripped Driveline

I have a stripped set screw on my drive line - anyone out there have an idea how to unscrew this?

My thought is to drill it out - but wanted to see if there was a better idea / solution.

Appreciate the help!

Drill it out then re-tap it to M4.

Buy a small screw extracter(about $5 at Lowes and useful down the road), it has reversed serated threads, put in drill, run drill in reverse, insert into the set screw and walla, the screw will back right out. Not a problem.

My recommendation...if possible...would be to use a dremel with a cut off wheel to cut a straight groove in the head of the screw and then use a screw driver to back it out.

I'm assuming you mean the head is stripped out...otherwise the screw extractor is the best solution if you can't get to the top of the set screw.

Cheap easy way is (provided enough of the hex is left), crazy glue/Zap the correct driver into the setscrew, let it sit, back it out.
A little heat will break the glue joint and you remove the setscrew from the driver once the setscrew is removed.

If that won't work, Dremel a slot & use a small flat screwdriver or use a small left hand bit (good hardware store, McMaster-Carr) and drill it out.
