Default Replacement for TLT Axle Stays?

I suppose since it's been a little while since they stopped making the TLT-1 that they have also stopped making these.. What would be a suitable alternative?

Make them out of 1/4" aluminum panel edging if you have the tools, etc...

Roughed out...

Cleaned up and mounted on a Hasbro chassis...

I've been laser cutting these out of 16 ga steel for a while now. Have a few variations and styles going mostly for myself and friends. Just working on a forming die set to refine the process. Maybe even make them available one day.

We need something, these little things are just so useful. I thought for sure a vendor would already have something made up. I found a place that had some over seas, it would cost me $35 for three bags of them though. I find that hard to justify I thought I'd try making my own before I paid that much for them.

I went to buy some, but WOW. $24 for shipping! I had placed one of the sets like above and two sets of just the brackets like what was on the TLTs in my cart. Where are these guys located?

Is there any other option out there for something that might work? Something off a different model R/C? I was hoping some other Tamiya rig would use something similar but I haven't found any. I figured maybe the semi's since the axles are nearly the same but no luck finding anything. If not I guess I'll look for a piece of channel like what was posted above and make some to get me by on the HEMTT I'm building.

I remember there being some semi parts bags with them, but don't remember anything useful. Making them from c channel is easy enough with a good hacksaw, vice, and drill.

That's how I remembered seeing them on the RC Channel site, it stinks that they don't sell them packaged like that anymore.

I downloaded the manual for a knight hauler and I''m going to go through it to find a part number.

So it's just called the suspension stay bag, who'd thunk that, lol. I can find plenty overseas and that rcchannel has an ebay store where shipping is a lot cheaper. Anyone ever had anything shipped from britain? Was there any customs charges? It'd take a couple weeks to get them but at $6.50 a bag plus $5.00 shipping and whatever they charge for the extra bags it's not a bad deal if I buy about five bags.
