| Wraith axles on an ax10?
I have an axial ax10 scorpion that i'd like to put new axles under. I would like to have the width of the wraith axles without getting spacers for ax10 axles. I'm leaning more towards wraith axles but am not 100% sure they'd fit. My bottom links are 5 1/4 inches and my top ones are about 4 inches, now I have heard of the wroncho where they have to bend four link bars or turn the transmission 180 degrees. Would i have to do that or would the wraith axles fit no problem??

I'm also interested. I'm sure someone has done it.

It's been done many, many times. I have 2 scx chassied rigs like that and I've built another for a friend. It's pretty simple to do if you run a 3 link in the front. A 4 link will work but you have to bend the upper links to clear the driveshaft. I made the chassis bracket and servo mount but the axle end is a VP mount. The rear is simple, I just use the servo mounting holes in the stock truss. If you already have upgraded gears and lockers you can swap them right into the wraith housings. One of my sets of ar60's started life as ax10 axles but I got tired of breaking front shafts and housings. It'll cost about $120 to upgrade to wraith from ax/scx once you buy the housings, universal shafts for the front, rear shafts, lockouts, knuckles, C's and the parts tree's that have the diff covers, carrier caps and axle trusses in hand. |
