| FossilJunkie's 4-linked Nylint (almost complete)
Got the chassis done, and everything installed. I will be changing batteries, so it still looks a little funny, but o well! WB turned out to be 13.5" with a 19" overall length. GC under the chassis is 5", and max flex is 9". Let me know what you think! The body is off a New Bright, just something to make it a little less robotic until I can get something resembling a Blazer. |

that's sick! very good, clean work, did you cut the chassis yourself? what's it made of? that's a short wheelbase too, why'd you decide to make it that length? only thing i think doesn't look right is the front shock, but i see you were kinda limited on room for it. as long as it works though, i don't guess it really matters -Dalton edit: 600th post! |

I cut the chassis, made out of 1/8" aluminum. I'm not happy with how the front shocks are mounted now either, but hey, it's "the wart's" fault As far as the length, yea, it's more 1/8th scale now, just kind of how it ended up. Once I find a body I like, I might change it, but for now it's good enough. I just can't see spending a whole lot of time and money switching to HG electronigs on one of these, trying to keep electronics stock sucks cause of the steering setup. Only think I'm thinking of possibly doing is extendig the WB some more and mounting the front shocks differently, but again, depends on the body I end up with. I'm kind of waiting to find a K-5 blazer body (i don't think they exist) maybe I'll find one from a model or something, I dunno. Glad you like it, sure is fun!

Looks pretty cool. But why did you decide to go 4-link instead of stick? Good luck finding a K5 body from what I here they are hard to find and people usually bob the chevy truck and make their own camper top to get the K5 look.

I agree the 4-link does look alot cooler and takes alot more thought. I guess that why I just picked up a TXT.

Thanks for the kind words! I did the 4-link because after lurking the Nylint forum I found a lot of people wanting to do it, but not a lot of people giving advice or having done one themselves. I figured this way, it'd be a little different, I dunno. It is a custom chassis, besigned by me in a free CAD program and I had my local machine shop cut it out for me. I think the last thing that I want to do to it will be a better battery, something that lowers the CG a little more, maybe fits inbetween the frame some. I'm very happy with how it turned out, but I think I'm ready to move on to my next project. My friend has a "sector 7" toyota tundra that is 1:6 scale that I will be getting on Friday, and I think I'll turn that one into more of a basher than a crawler. It's a 7.2V system, so it should be a bit easier to MOD with servos and electronics. I'll post some pics when I get it, but for a quick snapshot it's posted in the "general crawler" section under "sector 7 R/C Truck". Thanks for looking and let me know if there are any other pics or details you would like to know about my rig!

I've been known to go through a half-gallon bottle in a weekend before... We'll leave the rest up to your imagination! Actually, that was from 2 nights before.

It's a little different getting used to it, and it doesn't allow you to do 3D design, but it will allow for 3D modeling. Great program, especially for being FREE! Here's the pic of the chassis before being cut.
