What’s the chances of Axial coming out with a SCX10 III 6x6 kit.

I've got no crystal ball, but probably not likely. Given the discounts on the rtr this holiday season I don't think it's been a hot seller.

IMO, I don't really think the 6x6 market is there. Yeah, they are cool, but a normal 4x4 rig is more capable, with the exception of climbing.

I think if they designed an actual 6x6 chassis instead of just adding frame extensions, and the rig had portals and possibly divorced rear axles from the factory it would be different. I just bought a Umg 6x6 because of the price difference and weight of the the Trx6. I think gspeed’s release of the lcg chassis might ignite a market for a little for swaps and custom builds.
I almost wish I would have just built one from scratch with portals that chassis and a complete big boy trans. But it’s a fun rig to mess around with and with some well placed upgrades I see it being very capable. I couldn’t imagine it being my only rig.. yet.. but I will say it did better than my buddies trx4 in some spots and I was surprised at the angle it would side hill without tipping in stock form.
I would have been happier to get it for $350 instead of $450 but I am glad I picked one up. Now if only I can convince my buddies so we can try to outdo each other with 6x6’s

I've been really pleased with my TRX6 and to be honest with some minor modificaitons my brothers UMG 6x6 is virtually as good for 99% of the stuff you find on the trail. I can see why competition guys wouldn't go down the 6x6 path but for anyone that likes crawlers for contructions sites, forest hikes etc.. I really don't think there is anything better.

I do wish that Axial had come out with something a little more polished.
I don't think we will see anything new for a while, but if they did.. I am PRAYING it's a Mercedes LG-1519 Mamute. I don't generally like the "military" style.. but damn I would watch this unique suspension for days...

I suspect that is due at least in part to the results of Axial's previous 6x6 project.

I personally never had any interest in a 6x6.

Really enjoy the way these 6x6's move over the terrain. A lot of fun to run them once in awhile and with a sound kit they are over the top

I love my modded trx6, I’m getting ready to build another 6x6. I think they need there own class for comp if that becomes a thing. But if your into crawling then a 6x6 brings another light to it. Use it to compare your 4x4s to If nothing else. But its fun.

I’ve been contemplating building a gspeed chassis with ar45p axles and either a forward motor mount and some sort of divorced transfer case. Then just have to play with gearing. But that would be a pretty fun project

I recently built one from old parts..., adding to an old scx build; linked not leafed.

I don’t like it..., to me it went from a fun trail truck to not as much fun. Think it might be fun if a bunch of 6x6/ military truck went out all at once....

I love 6x6 based rigs and wish there where more options available

It’s too bad that The UMG 6x6 was such a bust, but Axial only has themselves to blame.

It was under engineered, pieced together, and parts of it where poorly executed.

The 10.3 and it’s portals and stiffer chassis would make a much better platform to build a 6x6 Mog (or other vehicle) on.

While the UMG6x6 leaves a lot to be desired, I absolutely love my UMG10. It’s my go to scale/trail rig!

My TRX6 is a tank and I feel a 10.3 based 6x6 would be equally impressive.

Unfortunately the corporate bean counters won’t allow it happen even though I strongly suspect they are the ones to blame for the failure of the UMG 6x6.

Maybe Element or one of the smaller companies will offer us more options in the 6x6 areas.

Or perhaps the aftermarket will offer us a kit to build a 6x6 from a 10.3 base.

I think TGH or STH offers a kit to transform the TRX4 in a TRX6.

So is the Axial UMG 6x6 discontinued? Can’t find it for sale anywhere.

That’s what I’ve heard, was bummed I didn’t get one on sale. But now I’m just glad I got one... although there’s not much left on mine that’s stock other than the axles body and some transmission parts

Yea and as rich stated above... there’s a 0 percent chance axial will revisit the 6x6. But with the new gspeed chassis.. who cares
