| 2 heavily modified vehicles... 56K WARNING
Back in January I sold a friend a 1/6 Nylint. I sold it to him cheap, hoping he would see how much fun it was and then want to go with me when I took my truck out. To Spice things up I challenged him to a competition between the two rigs. The only rule we had was we had to use the stock Nylint axles. I told him I would give him till June to fix his up. Not only did he fix it up, he almost beat me at my own game. the only reason I won the competition was some good fortune and way better tires. My truck was a very simple build. It has been on the forums before, at the time it had a Bronco body. I just used a 2" by 17" piece of aluminum bar to connect the two axles. It runs on Moab XL's and uses a Fast and Furious battery. His was much more involved and a very nice design. He welded a custom frame. I am not sure what kind of tires those are, but they didn't work very well. He used the standard battery. 1+ hour of run time is great. I had to change the F&F battery 3 different times ti finish the comp. It had a 19" wheel base and loads of wheel travel. Here are a couple of pictures from the comp. Here is the Toyota after I took off the body. We have a few more months before the next comp. I need to outboard my rear motor and I want to look into a 10 cell sub c pack. I would like to take all the x-tra weight off the vehicle that I can. It seems like the lighter the truck the better the traction you get. I am not sure what he wants to do, but I am pretty sure he wants to change the tires. He might be looking at making another frame. If he does I will post his old one here for sale. Any ideas or comments are welcome. Last edited by vader; 06-26-2007 at 08:21 PM. |

i built a stick nylint and ive bought 3 fast and furious batterys and can only get one to work for like 10 seconds and then it starts surging as if no power! its stupid, ive been using the 1/6 battery but damn its big when mounted on the front axle. its still awesome but that battery is kinda in the way. anyways... that tuber is SICK! i love it. and how your using the 1/6 BATTERY thats gotta rock cause you get mad runtime. props! |

I bought 6 of them from a Walmart before I found these 3 that work. I think there are a bunch of old ones out there that just don't work right. | |

Do you ever have any problems with your shocks coming apart?

| My shocks are right at the point where if I get to max articulation that the right rear will just barely seperate. I was thinking of putting a limiting strap on it. The other shocks have never come apart.
