Default CC-01 / Brushless Question

I just got a CC-01 chassis for a scale 1.9 build. Has anybody put a brush less motor in one and not torn up the gears?

I got rid of all my lathe motors and changed over to brush less motors. I don't really want to go back to a brushed motor.

Yes, I have and it seems to be holding up great. I put a gear reduction unit in which really really helps. I've never torn the gears up, but I did give the truck enough stress to pop the lower gear case piece loose. If you do as I did in my thread with the 32 pitch conversion and ziptie chucks to remove the bearing slop the truck is pretty sturdy.

I used the ziptie chucks in my Pajero XC also, and it had been subjected to lots of abuse in the form of a fast motor and sticky tires. It was torture for the gearbox, and it held up, even with the stock spur.

Well shoot, I do have a cc-01 I thought the XC chassis was different.

I have mounted the outrunners directly in there with no problem but a gear reduction is the best way to make them fit with best startup.

Ok so what size brushless should I run. I have a gen1 revolver, small white r2. I was thinking maybe the gws motor. Just need to figure which gear reduction to run. 2:1, 3:1, or 4:1.

The GWS or RR2 with a 3:1 would be great.

So what size pinions and spur gear are you using for your reductions?

Spur is a rc10gt spur gear 60 Tooth. Pinion is a 16 tooth.

Reduction is 3:1 9 tooth verses a 35 tooth.
