| venom axles
ok so i wanna get venom axles to use on my 2.2 scaller b/c the lock/unlock feature. i also want to use a r2 tranny with dig but mount it backwards and use the dig in free wheel only to essentially drive 2wd and have a locking 4wd would these be legal in a comp? I know dig is not but i will not be digging just 2 to 4wd if so great if not boo i just wont comp with it here i my build so far: axial axles xtrail chassis HR shocks moabs on hpi rims cc sidewinder w/ 5700 r2 tranny using free wheel dig as a 2wd / 4wd selector mg996r upgraded servo jpi sf1 2wd/4wd selector comming soon ambush gcr bod all proline scale accessories proline powerstroke shocks. i will get progress pics here soon as always lmk what you think and what would help me out just want semi scale not worried bout frame mtd servo atm just wanna get runnin good |

If you go with the venom axles make sure you get the alloy diff case. The stock plastic case wears out and creates issues with it popping out of the lock position.

That's funny, The crew was crawing the other weekend and Metalhead came up with this idea and later I thought of using creeper axles cause of the unlocking diff feature...He also said that you can lock the front tires for the "burn out" pic... very cool idea, I would beef up the creeper axles...heard they are good but not really that strong...don't know why, don't have any. Maybe Metalhead will chime in...that is IF he opened his creeper yet... |

Venm makes the alloy diff cases ... think they are soething like $8.99 at Tower. Well worth it. As for strength ... there was some issues with over hardened axle stubs at the beginning, but they've solved that now. |

I think for a scaler you don't have to worry about strength and durability that much. I don't kno why everybody does cause its not like your jamming 5.5in tires between 5 rocks with a rediculous high torque motor and gearing like the comp guys.
