Talking U bolts and lift blocks

WEll today I made some ubolts to go with the diaz lift blocks. First I rounded up some tools and materials. Started measuring the axles, detirmend I needed 3/4" x 1 3/8" id U bolts. So I made a simple jig to bend up the fully threaded 2-56 rod. Heated it up with mapp gas untill it was red hot. Insirted one end into the hole and bent it around the jig to the desired u shape. After doing that eight times, cut them all to 1 3/8" long id. Next was the top aluminum holding plate. It's 1/16th thick 3/4" by 1 1/2" unbent. After bending the ends up it's 1 3/8" long. This adds to the realism and strengthens the plate a lot. The holes are spaced 1/2" apart side to side and are 3/32" round. The center hole is well centerd and is 1/8". That screw holds the leafs and block to the plate as well as being clamped down by the top plate.
These things aren't to hard to make they are just very time consuming. About 2 hours per axle. If your jig is off a little the u bolts wont fit.
Have a nice day

That is very cool, only thing I noticed is that with the juggy springs and the U bolt flip kit (did something on my Trekker) it seemed to make them stiffer because the U bolt cover tightened over alot of the springs which seemed to hinder flex...maybe it just seemed this way?? Let me know how it works out for you.

Thanks for the comments guys.
I'm NOT selling these. Way to much time involved to think about a vendor star.
1bjb I'm hopeing it will do that. With the leafs only held together with the single bolt. The leaf turns into a V shape bending around the bolt. Hopefully it will spread the load so it won't do that anymore. I wouldn't mind loosing some flex either. It has lots of flex right now. No battery, rx, or esc and it still flexes that much.

Forgot to add they ar bruiser springs not jugg's. They seem to be softer.
