| Post Pics of what Ruined your Trial Day HERE!
I think this would be an interesting thread to start. Rules: Post a Picture of what and describe how (if known) things broke on your rig(s) and caused the fun to stop and the search for missing parts in the dirt, or worse, it made you go home. I'll go first! I Loosened the screw that held in my steering linkage after smacking into rocks and sand. In a "spur of the moment" reverse 180 my rig barrel rolled and landed with one wheel straight and the other, well.. not, . I had no replacement on hand I so had to find it. Found it 5 mins later after following my most recent tire tracks Your turn! Last edited by GoSpeedRCerGo; 06-21-2013 at 01:09 AM. |

Same here ish... 1 mile into a 6 mile trek. Had to lug the beast round the other 5. Mine had a small stress crack in the knuckle which i thought i had reinforced..obviously not. Ally upgrade on the way. :-) Last edited by o0wiz0o; 06-21-2013 at 02:16 AM. |

We had a big impromptu meet last year so I thought I'd give everything a good run out. Two Tamiya Dagger chassis trucks lasted less that five minutes after the kids drove through water and the bottom turned out to be silt like quicksand. I had to wade in and grope into the slime to find them. Motors knackered. The third Wild Dagger took a tumble down a 50ft rocky gully and smashed two wheels, one knuckle and buckled three shocks. My Dingo blew it's steering servo, my Wroncho stripped the rear axle ring gear, my SCX10 recovery truck snapped the rear prop, and my Exo Terra skidded a rock and buckled the front toe block. I drove three hours to this meet and had broken this lot in less than an hour. Luckily my Wraith proved to be trustworthy and took the next three hours bashing without skipping a beat. |

I changed the battery and the power wire came off the speed control post. This is the first time any of my soldering has given my problems. Probably because I soldered the wire, the capacitor, and the bec to the same place |

This was over a year ago, but it was kind of cold that morning, stock shock cap didn't feel like cooperating anymore. |

Alrighty, so it was around 20* outside and I had been running the truck for hours already. Buddy was doing doughnuts on the icy pavement with his brushless 10+lb wraith and he got the thing spinning pretty fast. We were just messing around and I drove my jeep into his spinning wraith and it caught....ended up ripping my drivers side front link and shock mounts off the housing. Luckily, i did this after we finished the run Brittle plastic and spinning monster of a wraith never really ends well. Old truck, but slightly interesting. Got the front tire bound up pretty bad and instead of backing up, i gassed it. Thanks to 141:1 final gear reduction I ripped the whole shock tower off the frame. . Other than stupid stuff like a blown trans and the drive shaft falling off repeatedly, ive been pretty lucky with both my SCX and wraith |

Broke the steering knuckle on its maiden voyage into the real world. It broke about 20 min into the run. It is probably due to cold temps, the 3 foot fall off a log onto a rock, or the the high torque ouput of the servo. I knew that this was the weak link in the steering. Now I guess I have to upgrade... |
