IFS long travel prerunner?

I keep rolling this idea around in my head of building an IFS long travel prerunner. Using 3/16" rod or brake line for tubular scale A-Arms up front. Anyone ever done this from scratch before, 2WD or even 4WD? I'm not talking a Traxxas Slash bodied, Exo front, AR60 rear rig but something scratch built up front with an SCX10 rear axle. Something that still looks like a street legal 1:1.

A Honcho body with Dinky RC bedsides and no rear truggy cage looks close to a fiberglass wide fendered Tacoma.

I watch too many desert truck videos on YouTube lol.

There have been a couple, I did one Twin I beam, never drove it as I never figured out steering. There was another jeepspeed Cherokee, dont know if it was ever finished.

I can imagine steering would be tricky, 4WD would take some thought but 2WD might not be as bad.

Once I finish some current projects I will get back on it. It had 2.5" front travel and 3" rear. It needed crossover steering and antiroll bars.
Let me know if you need some ideas.

I built on. This year, the steering is one of the harder parts but it's still easy! I actually hand made the front a arms and a couple other things. http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/12/05/atu2yha8.jpg

The only thing I wish I had different was a faster transmission. But using the 22 gage steel worked but if you could I suggest going with a thicker sheet. Mine has 4 inches of travel in the front 5 inches in the back. And if it's a 1/10 scale. It would be 40 inches and 50

I was the builder of the JeepSpeed Cherokee. I got the steering figured out but then had to sell it. The new owner is driving it the way I had it set up. "thumbsup"

This was the way I shipped it off to the new owner- It's a little harder to see though.

I built a custom IFS SCX, sorta pre runner style. It was sold then I bought it back and made it a crawler buggy.
